Audenshaw in Canada Part 1

The Audenshaw rugby team arrived in Canada on Thursday evening, tired but in good spirits after their nine hour flight from Manchester. We made our short journey from the airport to the University of Calgary where we will be based for the next three days.

Evening meal was enjoyed in a local diner under the shadow of the Winter  Olympic Performance Centre where Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards made his famous aerial assault in the games of 1988 and where the famous fairy tale of the Jamaican bobsleigh team, as chronicled in the movie, “Cool Runnings” took place.

Training has taken place this morning on the University sports fields in preparation for the opening fixture tomorrow evening against Lethbridge RFC and the boys are shortly to head to the Calgary Stampede to celebrate it’s 100th year this afternoon.
