Audenshaw in Canada Part 3
On Friday evening the Audenshaw XV played their third game of the tour against the Alberta representative team, the Celtic Barbarians (U17) and maintained their 100% record to date with a fine victory by 29 points to 7. Centre, Andy Moores proved to be the difference between the teams as his clinical finishing allowed the Audenshaw side to pull away comfortably in the second half. Exceptional performances were also enjoyed by Daniel Openshaw, Nathan O' Neill, Sam Nero and Ben Platt-Hughes who deputised brilliantly in his less familiar flanker role.
Saturday provided a day of much needed relaxation after three games in the space of six days and this was spent with visits to the cinema and swimming pool in west Edmonton before making the short trip to St Albert where we were greeted by our new hosts at their splendid rugby club, equipped with gym and five rugby fields.
The boys will be treated to a barbeque this evening by one of the host families before we return to the serious business of rugby tomorrow as we look to make it four wins from four.
