1.Social and Moral Responsibility
2.Community Involvement
3.Political Literacy
The pupils should gain a ‘knowledge and understanding’ of the subjects listed below and explore them using a variety of ‘skills.’ The ‘skills’ to be used and developed should be ones of enquiry, communication, respect and participation.
1. Social and Moral Responsibility
Audenshaw pupils learn self-confidence, social and moral responsibility towards each other and those beyond the classroom.
2. Community Involvement
Audenshaw pupils learn about becoming helpfully involved in community and neighbourhood life, learning through community involvement and service to the community.
3. Political Literacy
Audenshaw pupils learn about the institutions, problems and practices of our democracy and how to make themselves effective both nationally and globally.
PSHE and Citizenship at Audenshaw - How We Deliver
At Audenshaw School four main areas have been targeted for the delivery of Citizenship. Via these four methods the full requirements for Citizenship content can be delivered at both KS3 and KS4.
1.Via The Academic Curriculum
At Audenshaw, many of the requirements of the Citizenship curriculum are delivered during the course of individual subjects. The specific areas of

World as a global community
How parliament works
Rights and responsibilities of consumers/employers/employees

Are all delivered via ‘light touch.’
2.Via The Wider Curriculum
At Audenshaw citizenship via the wider curriculum is delivered in several ways. Examples of successful delivery include follow up work on Work Experience, Business Studies ‘market’ week, elections to Student Council, the production of the student newspaper, via surveys, visits and trips, through the Combined Cadet Force and from Sixth Form ‘paired reading.’
3.Via Community Links

At Audenshaw, examples of this include organisation of an annual Senior Citizens’ party, raising money through sponsored fundraising, support and awareness of local charities, support and awareness of global charities/issues, support and awareness of environmental issues and the use of visiting speakers.
