Audenshaw School's Media Studies department aims to develop our pupil’s skills, knowledge and understanding of media products, functions and processes. Throughout the course our pupils carry out a range of relevant tasks that have been designed to recognise student’s achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the workplace.
The increasing use of technology in the Media Sector makes confident, creative and productive use of ICT an essential skill for life. Our approach to teaching Media Studies is to provide our pupils with the opportunity to work with a range of different technologies as often as possible so that they can become independent and confident technology users.
The department has a wealth of teaching and industry experience and all our teachers have their own unique skills, teaching styles and enthusiasm which they bring to their lessons. We are a new subject to Audenshaw and have developed rapidly in a short time. The Media Sector is constantly evolving and we too are continually reviewing what we do and the technologies we use to ensure our pupils have relevant and up to date lessons.
We have achieved excellent results in our first couple of years as a department and we are fully committed to finding ways to improve in the future.
