Academy Status - Letter From The Chairman of Governors

Dear Parents,

The Headmaster wrote to parents last week informing you that the Governing Body had approved, in principle, the conversion of Audenshaw School to Academy Status.

It is the strongly held view of the Governing Body that such a change of status would be highly advantageous for the school. As always in making the decision the Governors main concern was the opportunities we can offer our pupils and the school’s desire to ensure our pupils achieve their full potential in the widest sense.

The Governors would like to consult with parents on this change in status. Details of the implications of the proposed conversion were included in the Headmaster’s letter of 30th June 2010. Further details can be found on www.education.gov.uk/academies.

The consultation process will last from 7th July 2010 until 14th July 2010. The Governors would welcome comments from parents about the proposals. These could be by letter or email (admin@audenshaw.tameside.sch.uk).

Yours sincerely,

T. J. Hall
Chair of Governors.
