A number of lucky pupils have had the opportunity to practise their cooking skills in the school’s brand new food technology facility. Teachers have been conducting trial lessons in the room in preparation for its full use in September. During the next year pupils in years 7 – 9 will spend half a term learning new skills as part of their wider technology lessons. Additionally, some pupils in year 10 will begin a GCSE course in catering where they will test their skills in preparing a wide range of food dishes.
Mr Bond said, “The new food room is a fantastic, purpose built facility, that will allow pupils to experience this important aspect of design technology for the first time. I look forward to tasting many of the products that the lads make!”
