Pastoral

For pupils to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the school and to be successful they need to feel secure. All pupils have a network of support around them. The majority of teachers are attached to one of the school years as a Form Tutor. In this position they take responsibility for a class group. Should any problems arise the first person you should contact is your son’s Form Tutor.
Whilst we are an open school we do ask that parents observe the normal courtesy of making an appointment to come into school.
The Form Tutor is responsible for the well-being of each child and will check on attendance, punctuality, appearance, academic progress, achievements and interests as well as infringements of discipline. The form tutor normally stays with the group as they move through the school.
To support the work of Form Tutors we also have Year Co-ordinators and Heads of Lower and Upper School.
We place great importance on Assemblies in which pupils are given opportunity for reflection and prayer. Our aim is to foster the highest moral and ethical standards.
Each week pupils attend both School Assemblies and Year Assemblies. In addition we have two Form periods when more individual discussion and reflection is encouraged.
Parents do have the right to withdraw their child from both collective worship and from religious education.
