Personal Development Overview

The intent of our Personal Development offer is to build exceptional young men who are well prepared for their next steps into an increasingly challenging world. The Personal Development offer at Audenshaw school is underpinned by our three core values of: respect, responsibility, and resilience. Our aim is to embed these values in to all that we do, to helps students, become healthy, independent, and responsible members of a society.

The Personal Development offer is used to deliver statutory guidance on drug education, financial education, sex and relationship education (SRE) and the importance of physical activity and diet for a healthy lifestyle. Our curriculum also incorporates the study of religious, beliefs, values and identity allowing our students to develop into well-rounded members of our community. The offer also aims to help students understand how they are developing personally and socially, and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. All our students are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.

Our personal development offer has 3 strands : Character, Community and Curriculum for Life. In addition, all students receive two assemblies per week. One led by SLT and one by their Year Leader. Each assembly will focus on school values, national and international awareness days, religious festivals and the recognition of student achievements and outcomes.
